BRIEF

To create a living room and office space for a young professional couple, with a colour scheme to complement a specific art piece.

DESIGN PROCESS AND CHALLENGES

When we first saw the space, it was a large, oddly shaped room without a focal point.  The décor was dated, almost used as a spare room for unwanted furniture.

We started by zoning out the room and brainstorming layouts that worked well for the couple.  Then, a focal point was created, involving a contemporary fireplace.  Colours from their chosen art piece were used to complement the whole room.  The old carpet was removed; a beautiful herringbone floor was fitted to make the room appear even larger.  By adding mirrors and glass desks, the light reflected around the room, brightening the whole space.

FINISHED ROOM

The entire room was transformed: bold furniture was used alongside stylish fittings, and the room finally became a useful space for the couple. Precise focus on even the smallest details, such as soft furnishings, made the art piece come to life, bringing it from the canvas into the room. A blend of elegant and vibrant colours made the living room the wow factor of the house, earning our clients’ satisfaction.
